Pfff.... Probably just say that Death was a bit too lenient and now the Devil is there to keep things inline. It takes a bit longer now, and you would have to play a game* with Death or do a favor.

Game: These can be played by faking it, actually playing them through a pen and paper medium, time skip (rolling dice), or a photo editing software. It doesn't matter who chooses.
