Minecraft DND Thread

Hey everyone! I had an idea for a DND session!

FORWARD NOTICE: ONLY THOSE WITH A MINECRAFT ACCOUNT CAN JOIN THIS SESSION!!! I CAN SUPPLY ONE TO THOSE REALLY INTERESTED!!!!

Okay, so this will be a DND session separate from the main one. It will be played inside Minecraft! I'll be the designer of the campaign, but if someone with a mic wants to be Dungeon Master, let me know!

I'm going to create an entirely interactive world, but it will follow whatever happens in the DND campaign (EG: we'll be using dice online to generate results)

That's pretty much it! It will be taking place in 5e, and you can basically make your character however you want! I have the right to veto something I think is OP.

I am interessted, though I don't know if I know enough about 5e to make a good character. I have the PHB, because Silck once wanted me to adapt the 5e Warlock to 3.5 but that's it, not sure what other books are out.

If I may ask, why do you want to do it in 5e, any special reason or just because it's the current version?

A bunch of people requested 5e. It's very similar to 3.5, except a little more limited in choices, but it adds new races and classes, so I think it's worth it. Also the campaign I'm using was designed for 5.0

Alright, how soon do you plan to start? Just so I know how long I have to prepare myself

2 weeks, give or take. It depends on how long it'll take me to build everything :33

Are there any good 5e sources for spellcasters besides the PHB I should know?

Afaik there's only three 5e books out

I would be playing g but it requires Minecraft mods and I'm kinda uncomfortable with thise

Oh, it requires mods? That might be a minor issue for me, too...

well havoc says she needs to use a mod that lets her make custom npcs

So, are we required to download mods or not?

We almost certainly are.

It's a modpack, and a small one. I'll walk you through it when you're ready :33

You use technic launcher, so its not really work intensive.

Some clarification:

I've actually finished building the world. I had some old schematics that sped up the process from previous builds I've done. After incorporating those and building the Port, it only took me a day to finish everything else :33

So now, I'm working on the NPCs that will be in the world!

This process could take me anywhere from 2 - 4 days.

After that, we can basically start!

It's more that I don't want to add mods to my minecraft. I'll have to think about this...

Technic is a separate install from your normal Minecraft. You don't have to worry about your original Minecraft at all. Technic is its own standalone launcher.
