OC DUEL THREAD ACT 2

'huh, that is a little bit boring, where is the fun in not playing for wagers?'

the spark says, slowly turning around in air until they are upside down

'nothing's the matter, just having a conversation about game rules'

they say to the mage

'did you ever play card games with the elders?'

The King finally catches up with the Spark and floats the last few meters towards the group.
Of course he makes as little noise as possible as to not disturb the players in their strategizing.

"Your move." The Witch says to the Mage.

((curse yooooooou dm pawnnnnnnnnn))

The Mage is slightly shocked at the Spark talking to him, since he didn't notice him before.

After collecting himself, he says that he did indeed play with a few of them, though most either didn't care for it or were way too large to play with him.

The Mage then looks at the Witch and apologizes, he hadn't noticed that it was his turn again. He can be a bit scatterbrained at times. He draws a card.

the spark keeps rotating slowly

'last time i conversed with the elders i met a younger one who very much liked playing cards, in a similar manner of wagering to my own'

he pauses for a moment whilst grinning

'it made a lovely pet for that session'

The Mage nods. The smaller ones are usually rather, well...
The Mage pauses to think what word would best describe it. He shrugs and adds that one of the older ones once described Fluthlus as the Cockroaches of the Furthest Ring. But the smarter ones are usually much bigger. He says he met a few who could probably swallow a planet whole without even noticing it. Size differences that significant make playing cards together tricky.

((So uh. My character has been stuck because she was last with Meta's character and I don't think Meta's coming back anytime soon...

Find an excuse for her to come back, or use a different character?))

((Do whichever you prefer))

'ah, well there you go, using physical cards as opposed to mental constructs'

'who's turn is it?'

((...Welp.))

"I believe the Mage just drew a card, so the question now is if he can play it."

The Mage says that indeed he can.

He plays the Wild Draw Four.

The Mage asks what the Witch thinks about switching to red.

He then pauses for a moment, smiles and says Uno.

"Oh, you've got to be kidding."

The Witch draws four cards.

the spark grins

'my my that is some incredible luck you have there'

((Is it still the Witches turn or is it the Mages turn? I admit, I'm a little confused about the rules for the drawing cards things...))

((any force draw cards immediately skips the drawers go, so its your turn))

((Yeah, basically. You win. gg.))

The Mage plays a red Skip and thanks the Witch for this fun game.

He then turns to the Spark and says you know what they say, Heart of the Cards something, something.

((If I bring back my Maid, I'd have to think of a reason for why she would have left Meta's character... which would probably involve him disappearing and/or her not remembering leaving him, which would bring up more questions about where the hell they are and why... but now I'm especially tempted because a main joke with her involved that whole Heart of the Cards thing. God dammit. Maybe I should just flip a coin.))

"How about a victory slash consolation meal? The Spark and I managed to scavenge quite a selection of exotic fruits."

The Mage says he doesn't remember the last time he ate, apparently starving is neither just nor heroic.

The Witch looks at the Mage in shock.

"Are you serious?"

the spark shrugs

'to be honest I can survive through a complex form of energy transference similar to photosynthesis so the whole not eating food thing is not very strange to me'

"He mentioned starving." The Witch points out.
