OC DUEL THREAD ACT 2

The King sits down on the crenelation, looking rather disheartened.



((Disheartened is a great word.))

"Wow," the Maid says. "And I thought the Prince in my session had issues."

((Oh are we doing backstory telling time? Cuz I love backstory. Lemme just...))

The Witch looks around. Beyond the towers, she sees nothing. The Void seems vast, even endless. She slowly pchooooos down, landing near the others again.

'please i was one of the saner people in my session, as long as i kept myself balanced and didnt get too caught up in emotional stuff'

'which is why i normally am so happy go lucky'

the spark says, getting a bit of his grin back

The Mage says he doesn't remember much of his session. Probably because he was possessed for a long time during it. And it's been ages, he says, he has been drifting through the Furthest Ring forever.

He remembers one of his session mates was a bear. That was a pretty great guy, says the Mage.

The Mage realizes that he should probably go to the people he is talking to, or else they won't hear him. Why does space have to be so confusing?

"So there's no way out visible if you go really high up either. No portals above the clouds or suddenly-visible stuff or anything."

The Mage shrugs, he's pretty okay with the current situation and is sure he'll get used to how space and time and stuff work here in a couple of tousand years at most.

The King takes a deep breath and stands up again.

"Well I'd rather not be stuck here for all eternity if you don't mind. I'm worried about my friends."

"So, it seems there is no way out in the most literal sense. Since the first three dimensions hold no solution, we can turn our eye to the fourth. But although I'm no Time player myself and my judgement with matters regarding this subject might be flawed I have little faith in this idea."


"...Perhaps we could try the hard way and attempt to achieve a "true" death, but I'm not liking the implications of this plan."

"Ï vote no on the death plan." The Witch doesn't mention the possibility of fudging the results to minimise the possibility of this ending badly. Sure, she HAS the power to break whatever rules are in place, but that doesn't mean she's any GOOD at it.

The Maid leans back and looks out the window, up into the Void. "Do you know what I miss most about my home, before Sburb?"

((combination of not knowing what to do and lack of motivation to think of something, my bad))

The Star groans with boredom and stands up

"Ya'll are boring as hell!"

"Well, what would you suggest?"

the spark looks up

'i have no worldly idea but if you tell me i will tell you what i miss the most'

"I really miss all the stars," the Maid says. "I couldn't always see a whole lot, but the brighter ones were always there, still burning bright. I think that's why a lot of kids want to be astronauts when they grow up--they want to be where the stars are. Maybe they're trying to escape, or they just want to see it for themselves instead of in pictures... But a lot of people are drawn to outer space regardless. It's one of the last mysteries people had, wondering what was really out there."

"Not anymore, though, I guess."

((Wow that got sad.))

the spark looks sad for a moment and nods

'well in a universe where sb didnt happen, that did happen, you all flocked to the stars, a new era of human kind'

the spark stands up, stowing the harp scythe

'as for me, i miss the spires........'

he says, eyes gazing off into the past

The Maid smiles at the thought of everyone left behind reaching the stars. "If you don't mind my asking, what were the spires?"

The Mage shrugs, he still hears the whisper so the only "people" who he won't get to see are the Carapacians on the meteor. And they probably won't even notice if he isn't there, not meeting someone for a couple millennia isn't that weird when you're floating in the Furthest Ring.
