OOC Duel Thread

The Mage decides to try to communicate with the beats. He figures that since it came from the meteor the best choice is to try to talk in the language of the Horrorterrors, perhaps it's a lesser member of their noble race.

Since the Mage is nothing but a shade, no details can be seen but a faint purple glow comes from his head as it stretches a bit. Static noise can be heard and those capable of understanding the language of the Horrorterrors hear the following:

Horrorterror talk:

The Heir frowns. "Did you not hear me? I want a reason for trying TO KILL ME!"

The Mage finally notices the Heir. He abruplty turns his head. The Heir can see two pupilless, purple eyes stare at him while he hears static

HT talk again:

The Mage harrumphs

I am sorry, I didn't notice you, did I put you in danger?

The Muse draws what looks like a royal fencing dagger, and thrusts it into the side of the creature. Placing her palm on the back of her dagger, she applies an unknown force to it's hilt. The creature explodes in a fountain of lead, metal, and other unsavory parts

The RATTATORK

is momentarily confused as to why every one of his numerous BULLETS seem to miss the MUSE, but is not really thinking about it TOO HARD, as he is mentally preoccupied with a seperate conversation, and open-fire with jittery gleeful abandon has become reflexive at this point in his life.

METAL SPEAK

"LOOKS LIKE I'LL HAVE TO TAKE CARE OF THIS MYSELF, THEN"

It appears that it is nothing but an ANIMAL, though and extraordinarily POWERFUL one at that!  And then it is dead.  It doesn't explode though.  Why would it do that?  That would be silly.  Or did your weapon cause it to explode?  It might have exploded in that case.  Why don't we take a look?  I am certain we could figure out whether it has or has not upon careful inspection.

Withdrawing her blade, the Muse dusts off a bit of metal from her dress and turns around, about to return to her previous position

"Well no... Not really... I'm sure time would have done SOMETHING to help me but... It's not always reliable... Be that as it may be, it's scary having a shi- Uh... Your eyes..." The Heir shifts uncomfortably in the air..

The Bard holds out his hands and catches some of the creature's remains, then captchalogues them.

The Mage turns to the creature angrily

Now what the hell did you do that for?
I was talking to it!
How rude can you get?

The Mage then turns to the Heir and apologize

Sorry
I'll be more careful and tell the Captain to look out next time

The Heir mumbles something about as rude as trying to run someone over, but quits in the middle of his sentence. He looks to the side.

The Muse shrugs her shoulders and floats off, her hair flowing behind her

The Mages shroud fades and he returns to normal.

He apologizes to the Heir again then turns to the Bard and asks for the healing thingy.

The Bard hands the Mage the Med(jet)pack he had just used on himself.

"That'll be 420 Boonbucks."

The Heir floats down,"Sorry for over reacting about that. So... Do you know how to leave this place? I don't want my powers sapped."

The Mages gives the boonbucks to the Bard

He then flies to his meteor and captchalogues it

You notice an objectively adorable FRACTOSE, the size of a tubby tomcat, minding it's own business as it leisurely slides out of a RIFT that momentarily opened SOMEWHERE OFF TO THE LEFT.


You vaguely wonder if it can even partake in COMBAT, what with it's SMALL STATURE, SOFT EXOSKELETON, and NON-FUNCTIONAL WINGS.  
WHAT DO YOU DO!?!?!

The Seer, having sat back and observed the chaos, floats back into view. He says to the Rogue, "Maybe we should take this elsewhere? Getting kinda crowded for a good fight here. It's not called the War Thread, after all."

The Muse, noticing the distress of the Seer, calls to the Mage, Heir, and Bard. She watches as they turn to look at her, and then motions them over to her

The Mage distrusts the creature and turns into a shade once again.

((That's what I tried to avoid mostly. All I really did was call you guys out. It's pretty unusual for someone to not even look to see who's calling them when their name is called))
